VGR TransfusionMedicine Implementation Guide
0.5.0 - qa
This page is part of the VGR Transfusionmedicine Implementation Guide (v0.5.0: QA Preview) based on FHIR (HL7® FHIR® Standard) v5.0.0. No current official version has been published yet. For a full list of available versions, see the Directory of published versions

This page provides a list of the FHIR artifacts defined as part of this implementation guide.
These define constraints on FHIR resources for systems conforming to this implementation guide.
| Swedish Base Organization R5 |
A profile for organizations in a Swedish contexts. Here used to repressent the blood center that dispanses RBC units and run transfusion relevant laboratory tests. Inspired by the Swedish base profile for organization. |
| Swedish Base Patient R5 |
A profile for a patient, based on the Swedish base patient profile. This profile includes specific identifiers relevant to the Swedish healthcare system, such as personnummer, samordningsnummer, and reservnummer. |
| Transfusion Medicine Immunohematology Observation |
An profile for any lab result in transfusion context. This profile can be used for all laboratory tests where the analysis has one outcome value. |
| Transfusion Medicine Location |
Physical location of a Blood Center. Used as a link between TransfusionMedicineRBCDispense and SEBaseOrganizationR5. |
| Transfusion Medicine RBC Unit Biologically Derived Product |
A profile for red blood cell units in the context of blood transfusion. |
| TransfusionMedicineBDPD |
A profile for the dispense of an RBC units. Contains data elements of the date the product was matched to a patient and the status of the dispended unit. This information should not be transfered the status = returned |
These define sets of codes used by systems conforming to this implementation guide.
| ISBTProductCodes ValueSet |
Examples serving as placeholders for ISBT 128 product codes for red blood cell products. This value set is used for the productCode element in the RBCUnit profile. |
| ISBTProperty ValueSet |
Examples serving as placeholders for ISBT 128 codes for describing the property of a RBC unit |
| ISBTPropertyType ValueSet |
Examples serving as placeholders for ISBT 128 codes for describing the property type of a RBC unit |
| NPUTransfusionCodes ValueSet |
NPU lab test codes for laboratory analyses common in transfusion medicine. |
| TransfusionMedicineLabResult ValueSet |
Selected SNOMED CT codes for transfusion-related laboratory results. |
| TransfusionMedicineLabTestMethod ValueSet |
SNOMED CT codes representing laboratory methods relevant for transfusion. |
These define new code systems used by systems conforming to this implementation guide.
| ISBT CodeSystem |
Examples serving as placeholders for ISBT 128 codes for red blood cell products. This code system is used for the productCode and property elements in the RBCUnit profile. The ISBT 128 codes included in this CodeSystem are used under the license held by V??stra G??talandsregionen for ISBT 128, associated with site code S0031. |
| NPUTransfusionCodes CodeSystem |
A code system for NPU codes related to transfusion laboratory tests. |
These are example instances that show what data produced and consumed by systems conforming with this implementation guide might look like.
| BiologicallyDerivedProduct representing an O- RBC unit |
Example of how information about a RBC unit can be represented. Note that all ISBT 128 codes are just made up examples and not the actual codes. |
| BiologicallyDerivedProduct repressenting an RBC unit with blod type A+ and Jka phenotype. |
Example of how information about a RBC unit phenotype can be represented. Note that all ISBT 128 codes are just made up examples and not the actual codes. |
| BiologicallyDerivedProductDispense of an RBC unit with O- blood type. |
Example of how a transfusion dispense event can be represented. |
| Location of the dispense event. |
Represents the physical location of the blood center where the dispense occured. |
| Observation identifying anti-Jka |
Exemplifies how antibody findings can be repressented by TransfusionMedicineImmunohematologyObservation |
| Observation of O+ blood group result |
Example of a blood group result for a patient with blood type O+. |
| Observation of Positive Antibody Screen |
Exemplifies how TransfusionMedicineImmunohematologyObservation can be used to repressent a positive antibody screen. |
| Observation of a serological cross match test with compatible result |
Exemplifies how TransfusionMedicineImmunohematologyObservation can be used to repressent a compatible serological cross match using a string as result value. |
| Organization with fictive hsaid from Region Halland. |
Exemplifies an organization with a hsaid in Region Halland. Meant to repressent a blood center in the region, but the values are currently fictional and not based on any real organization. |
| Organization with fictive hsaid from Region V??stra G??taland. |
Examplifies a blood center at a hospital in V??sta G??taland Region. This is meant to repressent a blood center in the region, but the values are currently fictional and not based on any real organization. |
| Patient with personal number 19900101-1234. |
Examplifies a patient with the personal number 19900101-1234. |
These are resources that are used within this implementation guide that do not fit into one of the other categories.
| Parameters for Terminology selection of SNOMED CT-SE |
This parameter resource is used to specify the system version of SNOMED CT-SE to be used in the terminology service. |
