Introduction

This implementation guide specifies the VGR Base profiles (VGR Base). The profiles in VGR Base are derived from Swedish Base Profiles when present.

The VGR Base is developed and maintained by VGR:s FHIR Competence Group. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss suitable profiles and, if necessary, to develop new regional base profiles or application profiles. Constraints or extensions developed in VGR that have national use are raised as suggestions for inclusion in the Swedish National Base Profiles via HL7 Sweden Base Profiles working group.

Target Audience

The target audience for the VGR Base is system developers focused on interoperability solutions within health, medical care, and social services in the Region Västra Götaland.

Use Cases

The VGR Base contain additional constraints and extensions needed in VGR and should be used as a foundation for all work using FHIR in VGR, regardless of the intended use case. For specific needs, it is recommended to design separate application profiles. Published Application profiles can be found here.
